The Journeyman Apprenticeship Program includes opportunities in the Plumbing, Electrical, and Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning (HVAC) skilled trades. This is an intensive 4-year program designed to identify, evaluate, select, and train individuals to fill Technician positions. Apprentices will be participating in specially designed classroom training as well as supervised on-the-job (OJT) training that are designed to strengthen the technical skills, knowledge and provide experience to become a qualified and licensed journeyman Electrician, Plumber or HVAC Technician. Apprentices will learn and assist with installation, maintenance, service, and repair of equipment within their respective track (Plumbing, Electrical or HVAC).
The Restaurant Equipment Apprenticeship Program is an intensive 3-year program designed to identify, evaluate, select, and train individuals to fill Restaurant Equipment Technician positions. During this time, Apprentices will get the opportunity to work and learn under highly professional Supervisors and technicians while developing essential skills and competencies to better prepare in becoming qualified to accept a Restaurant Equipment Technician role. Through both classroom and on-the-job (OJT) training, Apprentices will gain knowledge and experience in service, repair, maintenance, and installation of commercial and industrial restaurant kitchen equipment.
Apprentices will be required to take ownership of their learning through self-discipline and initiative. In addition, Apprentices will be responsible for actively participating in all phases of hands-on training, regularly attending custom-designed courses at no cost and meeting course requirements, completing all assignments and projects in a timely and thoroughly manner, and maximizing learning opportunities.

Eligibility Requirements:
- Attendance to a 2025 Utilities Apprenticeship Information Session
- 1 year of continuous service with UO by application deadline
- Minimum 8 attendance credits
- No written performance counselings within the last 6 months (safety included)
- Available to work ALL shifts including 3rd shift (overnight) hours and attend selected daytime classes
- Physically capable of performing essential job functions, including the ability to regularly lift 50 pounds
- Ability to work at heights up to 210 feet
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
- Possess a valid Driver’s License
