JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for attraction recovery, preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of Universal Kids Resort attractions, show and water play areas. Responsible for troubleshooting all ride and show mechanical aspects and systems of the attractions following OEM specifications and requirements. Assists with repair of animation, special effects, and water elements.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responds to and assists in the recovery and repair of attractions, show effects, and water play areas. Troubleshoots down to failed components using schematics, leak detection equipment, vibration analysis, and other specialized tools and equipment.
- Performs preventative and predictive maintenance as prescribed by OEM or engineering team, both internal and third-party specifications. This would include changing time-limited parts, calibrating equipment per OEM specifications, filtration systems, and cleaning, lubricating, and maintaining equipment. Responsible for the disassembly and required repairs and replacements for mechanical components during annual inspections on ride vehicles. Verifies all quality control and NDT requirements have been met prior to assembly.
- Completes inspections and creates necessary work orders for discrepancies found. Follows correct chain of command to notify Ride & Show Management when necessary.
- Performs repairs to equipment due to safety, reliability, or show quality issues found during preventative maintenance, daily inspections or downtimes to improve ride reliability and show quality. Performs modifications per engineering team, both internal and third party or OEM specifications.
- Enters follow-up work orders for all discrepancies found in a timely manner. Documents all findings and work performed throughout the process of troubleshooting and performing repairs. Reports on labor in Maximo for all work performed. Demonstrates the ability to acquire skills in additional disciplines to support a broader range of operational and project needs.
- Completes PQS qualification across UKR’s attractions, shows, and water play areas. Trains new Technicians to do venue-specific PM work orders, recovery procedures, and processes. Assists with seasonal weather condition sustainment initiatives as directed.
- Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UDX policy, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities (KSAs) required.
EDUCATION
- High School Diploma or GED is required; Associate’s or Technical degree in related field is preferred.
EXPERIENCE
- 3+ years of experience in troubleshooting and repair of electro-mechanical systems, as well as hydraulic and mechanical systems either in the theme park industry or other industrial industries; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
