JOB SUMMARY:

The Sr. Financial Analyst for UDX Transformation serves as a key finance partner to the Transformation Office, responsible for developing and validating business cases, forecasting and tracking value realization, and ensuring financial integrity across strategic initiatives. This role provides end-to-end financial support—including journal entry preparation, initiative-level reporting, and performance analysis—while collaborating with cross-functional teams to align financial outcomes with organizational goals.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Value Realization Forecasting

  • Build and maintain robust financial models to forecast benefit realization, including cost efficiencies, revenue enhancements, and operational improvements.
  • Monitor and report on benefit realization progress, comparing forecasted vs. actual results to identify gaps and improvement opportunities.
  • Track incremental financial impact over time, supporting transparency and accountability across initiatives.

Financial Modeling & Analysis

  • Construct dynamic, driver-based models for scenario planning, sensitivity analysis, and forecasting across transformation programs.
  • Utilize tools such as Excel or enterprise planning platforms to support long-range planning and performance management efforts.
  • Collaborate with Finance and operational teams to ensure financial models reflect both strategic intent and operational realities.

Financial Management and Reporting

  • Prepare and post month-end journal entries related to transformation initiatives (e.g., accruals, capitalizations, cost allocations).
  • Maintain and report accurate project financials including actuals, forecasts, and budget vs. actual variances.
  • Prepare and deliver clear, concise financial reports and presentations for leadership, articulating key assumptions, drivers, risks, and outcomes.
  • Leverage dashboards and reporting tools to visualize financial progress and benefit tracking across the portfolio.

Strategic & Commercial Insight

  • Translate financial data into actionable insights that support strategic decision-making and enterprise value creation.
  • Evaluate business proposals beyond the numbers by understanding commercial implications and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Apply judgment to determine financial viability and risk exposure of proposed projects and initiatives.

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Partner with stakeholders across Finance, Operations, Technology, and Strategy to collect inputs, validate assumptions, and ensure alignment on initiative outcomes.
  • Serve as a financial advisor to initiative owners, helping them understand the financial impacts and requirements of their programs.
  • Foster a culture of financial accountability and ownership within transformation teams.

Business Case Development & Analysis

  • Develop, evaluate, and refine business cases for strategic initiatives, including calculating financial metrics such as ROI, NPV, IRR, and payback periods.
  • Assess and validate financial assumptions by partnering with cross-functional stakeholders, ensuring business cases are grounded in realistic, data-driven expectations.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support investment decisions and prioritization of transformation initiatives.
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field required;
  • MBA preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

5+ years of experience in finance, accounting, FP&A, budgeting, and/or business process improvement.
