JOB SUMMARY
The Assistant Manager, Communications is responsible for executing internal and external Universal Creative communications, leading written materials delivering consistent messaging company-wide. Responsible for drafting and securing approval of executive-level communications, presentations, talking points and decks, partnering with internal and external groups as needed. Utilizing excellent written and verbal Communications skills, with a track record of successful stakeholder management, this role will support the planning and execution of the internal and external communication calendars, including presence at industry and professional networking events; partner to enable internal events enhancing the team member experience.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Internal Communications:
- Manage internal communications content and support overall strategy by writing key messages relevant to all Universal Creative Team Members globally.
- Manage content development, scheduling, and distribution of the Creative News in each location, including distribution and archival. Work with content advisors from each department and location to ensure inclusive representation in communication.
- Assist projects and departments in development and publication of specific team news and executive publications.
- Support all communications-related internal events, including but not limited to State of Creative and Executive leadership Town Halls.
- Analyze benchmark data and criteria that measure effectiveness of communications initiatives.
- Executive Communications
- Prepare, review and distribute executive messaging for the Senior leadership team, both internally and externally, from crisis management to general information to Team Member engagement.
- Presentations: Liaise and design executive-level presentations for Vice Presidents and higher, including cross-divisional and parent company senior executives, partnering with internal and external groups, as needed, to develop and communicate Universal Creative content. Coach executives on talking points used for internal and external audiences. Travel with executives as needed, managing all aspects of their presentation. Review and facilitate other non-executive and cross-divisional presentations containing Universal Creative content. Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
- External Communications
- Support all external communications, including executive and Team Member speaking engagements, PR activities, recruiting events, content creation, and more.
- Manage relationships between Universal Creative and UPR stakeholders, including Corporate Communications, marketing, events and operations. Ensure key project milestones are identified and communicated.
- Assist in managing communication support to partnerships such as universities, industry organizations and sponsorship opportunities.
- Support industry and appropriate award submissions through content creation and UC representation.
- Planning
- Support Executive comms planning and project-based communications calendars. Align and partner with UPR / Marketing to ensure consistent messaging.
- Oversee consistent capturing and socializing of key project milestones, communications beats and UC TM activity within Corp Comms teams and to UC SLT.
- Guide the Universal Creative content production planning process, both within the team and will cross-functional partners to develop branded content to inform and attract top talent.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Content creation experience a plus.

- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office required. Familiarity with design software (Adobe Creative Suite) preferred.
- Proven aptitude for quick creative thinking with acute attention to detail within demanding deadlines.
- Ability to work under pressure, deadlines, and incomplete information.
- A professional demeanor.
- Must be willing and able to travel.
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism or related field or experience.
EXPERIENCE
2 years experience working in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or Advertising preferred. Must have strong verbal and written communication skills. Social media, graphic design, photography, video development, and event management experience is a plus.; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
