JOB SUMMARY:

Supports the maintenance of costuming inventory integrity and quality through effective use of the Garment Inventory Management System (GIMS) in order to minimize garment loss.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Complete semi-annual “Cycle Counts” of each type and style in inventory in order to maintain system awareness of the count and location of costume pieces.
  • Record received shipments of new inventory and ensure that a barcode is applied to each piece and it is correctly entered into GIMS.
  • Inspect costume pieces to verify show quality.  If an item is no longer needed or is not of show quality, properly remove the item from the system and discard according to Company policy.
  • Verify order quantities for upcoming purchases.
  • Ensure that the costume rails contain enough inventory to support daily operations.  If necessary, retrieve additional inventory from storage, add items to the rail and record the move in GIMS.  Maintain the organization of the inventory storage areas in a way that promotes the efficiency of Costuming operations.
  • Run and act on reports and metrics pertaining to inventory quality and integrity.  Maintain awareness of how Costuming processes affect inventory quality and integrity and notify supervisors of any concerns.
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION: 

  • High school degree or GED is required. 
  • Technical school and Associate’s degree (AA) is preferred. 

EXPERIENCE: 

  • 1-2 Years: Ability to perform basic costume repairs and completion of 90 days of service with Universal Orlando required six months to one-year experience providing work direction, and previous theatrical experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
