Universal Horror Unleashed is a terrifyingly unique experience that will bring haunts to Las Vegas year-round. Located at Area 15 is the heart of horror – we would love to have you haunting alongside us! With the nature of this experience comes a unique working environment. JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for all aspects of exercise physiology and occupational health for the operation at Universal Horror Unleashed as it pertains to injury prevention, creating structured, goal-oriented, individualized programs designed to facilitate injury prevention and recovery processes. The role will understand the action and posture of Team Members inclusive of performance during the show and facility operations. Routinely assesses the risk associated with the expected postures and movements. This role will also provide professional instruction to Performers for training, workshops, pre-show warm-up, and post-show stretching. Responsible for first aid triage of injury/illness to determine next level of occupational health interventions.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Complies with arrangements and agreements made between EHS, Corporate Medical Director, and other medical authorities to support first aid triage and occupational health interventions. Provides appropriate first aid, prevention, and rehabilitation within agreements and arrangements at the highest possible standard of care, relevant to the functional demand of the Team Members and environment. Delivers timely and safe emergency response and first aid triage, when necessary, while actively participating in maintaining/optimizing emergency preparedness of the environment.
- Actively collaborates with the UHU local leadership team, EHS, Risk Management, and third-party medical providers in establishing and implementing programs directed at the prevention of injury to achieve optimal performance, relevant to a Team Member’s specific need and repetitive movements.
- Collaborates with Medical Director, EHS, Risk Management, and third-party medical providers to create channels to exchange for feedback and problem-solving regarding strength and conditioning, re-integration planning, recommendations for referrals for medical conditions and performance support.
- Actively documents and manages all medical and treatment plan information, interactions, and events as required by EHS, Legal, and Risk Management while always upholding Team Member confidentiality.
- Accompany Team Members to medical appointments, when indicated and at the direction of Risk Management for the purpose of support while ensuring all necessary legal/insurance documents are obtained, properly communicated and filed confidentially. Informs and establishes communications between Risk Management, Team Member, and leadership regarding recommendations for functional restrictions and limitations.
- Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UDX policy, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
- Supervises an Exempt team

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities (KSAs) required.
- Ability to establish interdependent relationships with the members of the team while actively and provisionally contributing to functional decision-making processes (Human Performance Risk Management).
- Experience with injury prevention and creating structured, individualized programs.
- Ability to engagement in ongoing professional learning and development with emphasis on manual therapy techniques, exercise progression, and other preventative methods.
- Experience working with high caliber performers, artists, or athletes is a plus.
- Understanding of exercise progression and preventative fitness is a plus.
- Ensure the department daily operational needs are met at the highest standard of professionalism care and ethics.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- Nevada state certifications are required, including CPR/AED. Personal Trainer certification is preferred.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Physiology, Athletic Training or Physical Therapy is required.
EXPERIENCE:
- 6+ years in exercise physiology, occupational health care, or clinical physical therapy is required, experience working with athletes or performers is highly preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
