JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for the safety and daily operations of Central Services across Universal Kids Resort (UKR). Contributes to routine, capital, and expense budgeting and sets direction and priorities for all central services functions and seasonal weather condition sustainment initiatives. Manages and leads technical staff to include continuous improvement, personal development, and administration in area of responsibility. Facilitates the hiring, training, and scheduling of hourly Team Members across Central Services. Plans and schedules all work and maintains efficient workflows to ensure completion of products and services.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages central services functions in the daily activities including but not limited to annual ride maintenance, mechanical, welding, painting, fiberglass, hydraulics, creative fabrication, and figure finish. Ensures maintenance servicing and repairs are in accordance with all regulations and Universal standards and procedures. Oversees the Annual Ride Vehicle Cycle Program for UKR’s attractions in partnership with Ride & Show Maintenance to plan and schedule accordingly.
  • Oversees the discretionary and backorder work log for machine shop, weld shop, paint shop, hydraulic shop, and special projects. Ensures work is completed when requested and technical requirements are met with products delivered. Monitors the labor and purchasing budget while maintaining proper equipment and supply levels for central services needs.
  • Manages and leads training and development within Central Services by administering development plans on a regular basis, timely feedback, managing schedules, time and attendance, and personnel records for direct reports. Ensures safety compliance and adherence to all Universal policies and procedures and keeps safety a top priority of the Central Services team. Encourages a positive and safe work environment.
  • Drives and executes plans for Central Services team that directly affect Team Member satisfaction (TSAT), Guest satisfaction (GSAT), and safety standards while utilizing existing tools to measure and monitor performance against targets. Develops appropriate action plans to achieve or exceed targets.
  • Oversees the capital and expense budgets and ensures financial responsibility and labor optimization. Routinely and regularly manage capital requests and execution of approved capital projects. Make sure all capital needs are input into the system and priority reviewed regularly. Monitors overtime, ensuring only used when absolutely necessary.
  • Leads seasonal weather condition sustainment initiatives across Universal Kids Resort theme park. Ensures efficiencies and maximized use of labor and seasonal closures to manage sustainment efforts related to various weather conditions. Assists with special projects as assigned from start through completion. Drives alignment of documentation and deliverables and coordination and implementation of applications or solutions.
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UDX policy, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Supervises a Non-Exempt team

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
  • Schedule flexibility required with availability to work on weekends, holidays, early mornings and evenings.

EDUCATION:

  • Technical school or Associate’s degree (AA) in General Studies, Technology or related field is preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years of experience in general shop work and experience with tools and small equipment with 1+ year of leadership experience is required; experience within a seasonal or regional theme park is a plus; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
