Associate Producer, Entertainment Production - Universal Kids Resort

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for overseeing all phases of various Entertainment projects and events throughout Universal Kids Resort (UKR). Drives the entire project scope from concept to operation, including but not limited to creative design, production, fabrication, technical integration and installation, costuming and makeup development, and operational requirements. Informs and advises Senior Leadership on project status and issues. Ensures compliance with Universal Kids Resort policies, Entertainment Creative Development goals and creative intent, and Intellectual Property requirements. Determines strategies ensuring the successful completion of all tasks and/or assignments through all aspects of design, production, and operation from original concept through project close-out.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for ensuring all projects are successfully established and integrated. Partners with the leadership team to develop, review, and manage project plans, scopes, and strategies, ensuring that the creative intent is developed within the project’s parameters and Universal Kids Resorts’ business objectives. Effectively collaborates with Technical Entertainment and Entertainment Operations teams on their respective elements of each project and event.
  • Provides oversight and direction to the Entertainment Production team. Creates budget estimates for all assigned projects. Reviews continually-evolving design documents and estimates to ensure projects are on budget. Develops conceptual Rough Order of Magnitude estimates for projects prior to and in Blue Sky Phase to develop initial costs for business unit financial analysis. Creates Value Engineering components with the project team to mitigate cost overruns.
  • Develops the production schedule milestones to align with the overall project goals and strategies. Monitors for changes or delays to the schedule, and forecasts potential timeline risks. This includes but is not limited to the evaluation of Contractor’s schedule performance and schedule coordination with other groups and departments.
  • Acts as a principal point of contact for all assigned projects, and manages, interprets, communicates, and presents project information to a variety of audiences throughout the project process. Leads routine project meetings as required. Develops and manages the delivery of stakeholder engagement and communication strategies on all aspects of the project. Provides project touchstones to senior leadership, including budget trending, milestone progress, defined scope, and risk assessments. Prepares reporting tailored to relevant audiences to maintain strong positive engagement from all project stakeholders.
  • Creates initial charter documentation outlining project goals, objectives, milestones, staffing plans, topline budget, defined scope, assumptions, and risks. Manages and interfaces with appropriate internal and external resources through every phase of the project ensuring the highest level of integration into the overall strategic plan for the resort. Ensures that project Quality Standards consistently align with the project’s creative intent. This includes regular walks through the production sites to monitor progress and developments to ensure that the work being accomplished is in accordance with the contract documents.
  • Ensures that staffing and resources are contracted and approved in accordance with the approved project budgets and schedules. Makes hiring decisions and evaluates Team Member performance.
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UDX policy, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Supervises an Exempt team.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is preferred.

EDUCATION:

  • Associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent is preferred. Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 3+ years of Project Management experience required, with previous supervisory experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
