JOB SUMMARY:

The Senior Data Analyst provides data driven insights that help leadership make informed strategic and operational decisions. The work focuses on improving efficiency across existing data sources and reporting processes while uncovering opportunities for greater business impact. Translates complex information into clear visualizations and presentations that enable stakeholders to act with confidence.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE ARCHITECTURE

• Developing interactive dashboards in Power BI, streamlining analytics delivery and ensuring stakeholders have access to reliable, real-time insights.
• Collaborating with IT and business teams to automate workflows, improve data governance, and enhance analytics efficiency
• Ability to document user requirements into a well-structured specification.
• Collaborate with colleagues to create new templates or modify existing PowerBI dashboards.
• Building and optimizing ETL/ELT pipelines using SQL and Python, ensuring automated, efficient data processing and reducing manual workflows. Provide creative solutions to problems.
• Designing high-performance data models and transformations in Snowflake to enhance data accessibility for business users, enabling faster and more informed decision-making.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT & COMMUNICATIONS

• Manage incoming reporting requests and prioritize accordingly.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group that includes specialists, management, and subject matter experts.
• Ability to communicate in business terms with business leadership, IT terms with IT partners, and partner with Data Steward to ensure data integrity from source system to report output.
• Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously.
• Participate in and help lead weekly business intelligence status meetings.

AD-HOC BUSINESS INTELLGENCE REPORTING

• Build additional reports and dashboards as needed by the business.

DATA QUALITY ASSURANCE

• Responsible for QA of reports and dashboards to ensure accuracy.
• Coordinate with the team on new data integrations and validation of data sources.
• Team across departments to navigate and solve data problems if / as they occur.
• Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

OTHER DUTIES

• Assist in the performance of other special duties and projects as needed in support of organizational goals.
• Seeking opportunities to help other team members expand their knowledge and capabilities in PowerBI & SQL

EDUCATION:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required, preferably in Finance, Marketing, Engineering, Computer Science or Economics.

EXPERIENCE:

• 5+ years of experience with database queries and report and dashboard creation preferably in support of marketing and sales functions in the consumer entertainment, travel or amusement park industry.
• Strong background in all aspects of database technology, with an emphasis on the use of analytical and reporting tools.
• 5+ years and advanced proficiency with SQL Programming, R and Python or similar tools.
• 5+ years developing executive level and operational dashboards using tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, COGNOS, Business Objects.
• Demonstrated ability to take detailed requirements and convert into actionable reports.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Experience or knowledgeable in Travel & Resort Industry, Entertainment &/or Theme Park experience (Preferred)
• Experience or knowledgeable in PowerBI (Preferred)
• Experience or knowledgeable in Adobe Analytics and GitHub
• ;or equivalent combination of education and experience.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

• Experience with Microsoft Excel (advanced):
• Intermediate to advanced expertise with the PowerBI reporting platform.
• Intermediate to advanced expertise with Python, R, VBA.
• Experience with Snowflake, dbt, Airflow, AWS.
• Must have thorough understanding of database structure.
• Working knowledge of databases including writing SQL queries required.
• Excellent analytical skills required including advanced statistical and data mining techniques.
• Ability to work independently in a deadline-oriented environment.
• Experience in troubleshooting and resolving problems.
• Ability to evaluate quantitative data sets and determine “big picture” implications required.
• Ability to handle multiple projects required.
• Desire to work in a fast-paced environment required.
• Proficiency communicating research results in written, visual and verbal form required.
