JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for performing nondestructive testing (NDT) inspections on Ride & Show equipment to ensure the highest levels of safety and quality. Attend in-house NDT classroom training covering Visual Testing (VT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), and Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT) methods. Pass exams and obtain certifications for VT, MT, and PT NDT methods in accordance with UO procedures. Document and report inspection results, including any identified defects or irregularities. Performs all assigned duties in accordance with Universal Orlando and Technical Services Engineering /Quality Control Departments policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with all relevant safety standards and regulations.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Attend classroom training and successfully complete NDT Training and pass exams administered by the NDT Level III.
• Obtain OJT training hours under direction of an NDT Level III. NDT On-the-Job Training (OJT) hours are industry-mandated, documented hands-on experience hours required for certification in accordance with the UOR Qualification & Certification of NDT Personnel Standard based on ASNT SNT-TC-1A guidelines. Hours vary significantly by method listed. These hours are required to ensure that the NDT Trainee gains sufficient practical experience performing inspections independently.
• Assist with and conduct thorough NDT inspections on Ride & Show equipment following established procedures and industry standards as directed.
• Under direction from experienced team members, document and report inspection results, including any identified defects or irregularities
• Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

• Technical school is preferred
• Associate degree (AA) or (AS) in quality or related field is preferred

EXPERIENCE:

• Required: 3+ years of experience in a technical field
• Preferred: 3+ years of experience with major Ride and Show attractions and performing inspections of structural (including bolting), mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment elements essential to those attractions
• Preferred: 3+ years of experience working with machine and weld shop fabrication and Q/C inspection for compliance with mechanical drawings
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

• Required: Valid Florida Driver’s License
• Ready to test and certify in each NDT method within 12 months

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

• Previous experience in Welding, Machining or Composite fabrication or repair is an advantage
• Timeframe to complete this training to become certified to a level II status in each NDT method is 12 months
