JOB SUMMARY:

The Workplace Technology Administrator is responsible for the administration, support, maintenance, and lifecycle management of workplace technology platforms, creative workstation environments, and laboratory systems supporting Universal Creative. This role partners closely with the Workplace Technology Engineer and Enterprise Technology teams to support endpoint management, software deployment, asset lifecycle activities, Linux-based lab systems, and workplace technology operations. The position provides advanced technical support, performs system administration and troubleshooting, assists with technology evaluations and proof-of-concept initiatives, and contributes to project implementation, documentation, and continuous improvement efforts that support creative workflows and business objectives.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Administer, maintain and support workplace technology platforms, creative workstation environments, endpoint management systems and associated services.
• Perform device provisioning, software deployment, operating system support, patch management, application installations and endpoint lifecycle activities.
• Assist with management of workstation standards, hardware refresh programs, inventory activities, and technology lifecycle initiatives.
• Provide advanced troubleshooting and technical support for endpoint, application, NAS systems and workstation-related issues requiring in-depth analysis and cross-functional collaboration.
• Partner with Enterprise Technology teams to support endpoint management, software packaging, device compliance and operational technology initiatives.
• Support implementation of new workplace technologies, workstation solutions, laboratory systems and operational technology initiatives.
• Participate in technology evaluations, proof-of-concept activities, pilot programs, testing efforts, and technology validation processes.
• Assist the Workplace Technology Engineer with projects planning, deployment activities, technology rollouts, and operation transition efforts.
• Identify opportunities for automation, process improvement, standardization, and efficiency across supported technologies and workflows.
• Coordinate with vendors, business stakeholders and technology teams to support successful implementation of technology solutions.
• Administer and maintain Linux-based systems and services supporting laboratory, development, testing and prototyping environments.
• Perform system monitoring, patching, user administration, performance optimization, backup validation and operational maintenance activities.
• Support installation, configuration, testing and troubleshooting of software, hardware and technology solutions utilized within the laboratory environments.
• Assist with maintaining system availability, operational readiness and compliance with organizational security standards.
• Collaborate with engineering, development, and technology teams to support laboratory technologies and emerging technical requirements.
• Administer, maintain and support specialized hardware, software and technology platforms supporting creative, development, testing, laboratory and prototyping environments.
• Develop, maintain and update technical documentation, support procedures, operational runbooks and knowledge resources.
• Assist with asset management activities including inventory tracking, technology audits, lifecycle documentation and reporting.
• Support operational readiness efforts through testing, validation, change documentation and user communication activities.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance supportability, security, maintainability and overall technology service quality.
• Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Strong communication abilities, a desire to build consensus, and comfort relaying technical and security principles and decisions to a wide range of audiences and stakeholders.
• Ability to make quality decisions in high-pressure environments, maintaining focus on details, and appropriately prioritizing and triaging tasks according to business needs
• Effective conflict resolution and technical problem-solving skills
• Basic technical knowledge related to:
• Infrastructure & network design, support, and troubleshooting
• Windows and Linux systems administration
• Asset management tools (such as ServiceNow, Snipe-IT, and Lansweeper)
• Remote administration tools (such as Bomgar and Intune)
• Task/project management and report tools (such as PowerBI and Click-Up)
• Automation tools and platforms (such as scripts and Power Automate)
• Experience with technical audits and compliance frameworks for policies and standards (especially cyber and privacy)
• Experience with development and maintenance of technical documentation
• Familiarity with large corporate enterprise systems, integrations, and workflows

EDUCATION:

• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in MIS, Business or IT is required.

EXPERIENCE:

• 3+ years equivalent work experience in infrastructure technologies and troubleshooting;
• or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience preferred with endpoint management tools (SCCM/JAMF), workstation-class hardware (GPU, rendering, etc.), enterprise storage systems, Linux endpoints and server administration as well as exposure to AV or lab environments.
