JOB SUMMARY:
Supports management in directing and coordinating activities of department and employees by performing the following duties:
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plans and delegates work tasks.
- Delegates work assignments among qualified crewmembers.
- Communicates performance expectations in an effort to ensure proper completion of tasks.
- Communicates and coordinates with other departments or crafts as needed.
- Communicates resource needs and work plans to Supervision.
- Provides two-way communications between work team, supervisor, and other management and HR personnel.
- Actively reinforces company safety guidelines and programs; reports non-compliance.
- Monitors employee’s productivity, work habits.
- Leads work startup and stoppage, schedules breaks.
- Monitors care, condition, use and storage of tools, equipment and other UO property.
- Maintains material inventories.
- Monitors compliance with wardrobe/grooming standards, driving policy, radio usage, and other UO policies.
- Ensures proper completion of documentation including providing feedback for recognition and performance improvement.
- Captures written behaviors using the Lead Observation Report to support managerial and supervisory documentation.
- Paints faux finishes such as wood graining, marbleizing, aging, sponging and rag rolling.
- Field color matching - picks colors and mixes paint while using color 15% matching for desired assignment.
- Creates, maintains and uses painting documentation.
- Drawing, layout and painting of backdrops and murals with either brush or airbrush.
- Paint or airbrush of 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional fields and props.
- Preps surface to be painted - consists of cleaning, scraping, caulking, applying putty, and sanding patching, priming and base painting (brush and roll) of surface.
- Cleans up paint area - consists of picking up used tarps, scraping, removing tape, cleaning brushes used, cleaning spills, resealing paint cans, and cleaning paint buckets. Then stores equipment/tools in designated storage area.
- Maintains and shares job knowledge, assists in training developing new and current employees.
- Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
SCOPE:
To provide a comprehensive scenic painting service resort wide which will be instrumental in maintaining and expanding Universal Orlando. Supports management in directing and coordinating activities of department.
EDUCATION:
- High School diploma or GED is required.
- Associate’s and Bachelor’s degrees in P-Visual Arts, specializing in painting, drawing, or sculptures is preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
- 3+ years experience considered 1st Tier.
- 5 years minimum experience considered 2nd Tier, providing work direction preferred;
- or equivalent combination of education and experience.
