Roofing Technician

JOB SUMMARY:

Maintains the roof surfaces of buildings and complete specific work orders including but not limited to: masonry, tile, pavers, and woodwork. Handles daily trouble calls from the dispatcher, perform shop work on special projects as assigned.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Gathers necessary information, tools and equipment to perform assigned tasks. Informs Lead or Supervisor of needed materials and update inventory levels as materials are used.
  • Investigates water infiltration. Coordinates with other departments as needed to resolve leak related issues. Performs water tests as required.
  • Performs roof, gutter/downspout, window leak and other water infiltration repairs as necessary by utilizing materials such as modified fibertite, shingle tile, rubberized, metal seam, geo guard or other roofing systems.
  • Performs preventative maintenance on roofs including cleaning roofs, gutters/downspouts, and inspecting roofs for new work and damage.
  • Cleans up work area and disposes of all waste materials properly. Cleans all tools and stores equipment and materials properly.
  • Performs other maintenance related tasks as necessary and determined by business needs.
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

SCOPE:

Maintains the roof surfaces of buildings resort wide and completes other maintenance duties as required including but not limited to: masonry, tile, pavers, and woodwork. Responds to daily trouble calls from the dispatcher, performs shop work on special projects as assigned at the direction of the supervisor or lead.

EDUCATION:

  • High school degree or GED required;
  • additional education through Technical school preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 3-5 years commercial roofing experience required.
  • 3-5 years general carpentry and construction, including framing, drywall, trim work, masonry, and tile preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience also considered.
