Manager, Digital Innovation Marketing

Universal Orlando Resort believes in-person collaboration is key to our success. Many of our Team Members work in a hybrid capacity, contributing from the workplace a minimum of three days per week. There are also roles that require being on-site full time. Limited remote opportunities may be available within specific departments. You’ll learn more about this during the recruitment process.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Manager of Content Innovation will play a pivotal role within the Universal Destinations and Experiences Innovation Team. This position is responsible for identifying, piloting, and integrating emerging technologies into the broader business ecosystem across global markets. The Manager, Digital Innovation Marketing will be a creative technologist and strategic thinker who can bridge the gap between storytelling, technology, and fan engagement.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Innovation Strategy & Integration

  • Lead the development and execution of innovation sprints, aligning with park experiences, IP, and brand strategy
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to create integration and go-to-market plans for new technologies
  • Translate complex technical concepts into creative strategies that resonate with both internal teams and external audiences

Project Management & Reporting

  • Manage multiple innovation tracks simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business goals
  • Create and maintain weekly reports highlighting project progress, roadmaps, and key results
  • Prepare post-mortems, stakeholder presentations, and strategic documentation

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Partner with marketing, creative, and technology teams to develop communication and marketing plans
  • Facilitate workshops and brainstorming sessions with creatives and technologists to foster ideation and alignment
  • Act as a liaison between creative and technical teams, ensuring seamless communication and execution

Emerging Technology Exploration

  • Stay ahead of treads in AR, VR, gaming, fandoms, and platforms like Roblox
  • Evaluate and test new technologies for potential integration into Universal experiences
  • Advocate for digital storytelling that emotionally connects fans through innovation
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in, Marketing, Business, Technology, English, Communications, or related field is preferred

EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years’ experience in some combination of PR, influencer, Information Technology, social media, digital media/content, publishing, consumer brand or marketing/communications agency, or digital communications
  • Deep interest and passion for the emerging platforms, Web3, blockchain, NFT, GenAI, AI and creative technology.
  • Expert familiarity with the digital content landscape and industry, including content distribution strategies and best practices
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks while in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
  • Proven ability to lead a high level project working in a matrix organization on cross functional projects, including Content, Product, Marketing, PR, Creative, Legal, Promotions, and more.
  • Strong understanding of storytelling with new technologies and platforms.
  • Strong understanding of production and post-production processes along with the best practices and technologies that support them;
  • or equivalent combination of education and experience.
