Overview:
The University Advancement Student Worker (Student Worker) provides administrative support to the Office of University Advancement, Robert Morris University, reporting to the Donor Relations Manager. The Student Worker must be capable of working independently to determine and set priorities within the position responsibilities. Maturity, tact, sensitivity and understanding donor intent are crucial to ensure positive and productive interactions with all donors and employees of the University. The Student Worker will be an energetic and team-oriented individual that is seeking a real-world work experience.. This position is limited to students eligible for Federal Work Study-only. This is a part-time, non-benefit eligible position. Hours worked are not to exceed 950 annually.
Responsibilities:
Primary duties are to support the efforts of donor and alumni communications, including stewardship efforts (via the donor database Raiser’s Edge/NXT, Word, Excel and PDF), social media and event management. Additional duties as assigned by the UA Leadership. • Weekly Presidential Thank You Notes (Donations) – Support UA team in its preparation of the weekly gifts list and thank you cards for the President to send to donors • Weekly acknowledgement letters - Work with UA team to create and obtain signature on donor acknowledgement letters • Presidential Correspondence – Work with the President’s office to record in Raiser’s Edge/NXT holiday cards and various other pieces of correspondence for relationship tracking. • Serve as support to those in the RMU community to record corporate or alumni relationship activities in Raiser’s Edge/NXT • Assist with the management of the RMU alumni Instagram account, including creating, editing, and uploading content, such as photo and video posts • Support event management efforts including planning, setup, onsite support and wrap up of alumni and donor events • Prepare briefing sheets or other research for the President’s office related to meetings or events. • Various Excel, PDF and Word support for the UA team to include VLOOKUP, file cleanup, merges, pivots and additional conditional formatting and functions. • Perform various updates to Raiser’s Edge/NXT in support of UA including assistance with gift entry/import.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Excellent organizational and time management skills: Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. • Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records and data. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with colleagues, donors, and external stakeholders. • Ability to maintain the highest level of discretion and confidentiality with sensitive donor giving information. • Experience with Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel, as well as PDF. • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a dynamic environment. • Ability to work flexible hours, evenings and/or weekends as required to support University Advancement and/or presidential events.
