CONTEXT OF THE JOB:
- Under the direction of The Innovation Space’s Chief Growth Officer, the Program Manager, Acceleration Programs will collaboratively lead day-to-day initiatives related to Science Inc. virtual accelerator program and other startup acceleration programs as assigned. This role will report to the Chief Growth Officer but involve working collaboratively with contracted Entrepreneurs-in-Residence, volunteer startup mentors, subject matter experts, and Innovation Space staff members.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The Program Manager, Acceleration Programs role includes the following responsibilities:
- Lead operational strategy and implementation for learning programs at the Innovation Space.
- Lead curriculum design and resource development for our business accelerator and other learning programs at the Innovation Space.
- Lead management and execution for our business accelerator and related start-up business building programs as part of The Innovation Space.
- Lead application cycle for our business accelerator, including marketing and outreach, application review, and coordination of due diligence process conducted by our team of Entrepreneurs-in-Residence and other functional experts.
- Scope and manage activities for the team of Entrepreneurs-in-Residence at The Innovation Space and facilitate their engagement with our current clients
- Spearhead coordination for external events at The Innovation Space. Engage appropriate resources and execute each event in collaboration with the full Innovation Space team.
- Collaborate with the CEO, CGO, and COO on meetings and calls with the mentor and advisory partners and summarize key learnings and actions.
- Be a strong team member of The Innovation Space Leadership Team and work collaboratively across the organization to enable all goals to be met or exceeded.
- Stay in strong sync with the needs of current and future clients of Innovation Space and partner with other organizations to deliver first in class science-based business accelerator programs in both modules or immersion experiences.
- Lead program intern engagement, including recruitment, onboarding, and management.
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned by the CGO or CEO of The Innovation Space.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree and at least five years of related experience in business development, startup companies, program development & execution, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Master’s degree preferred.
- Strong passion and drive for being part of an entrepreneurial community and non-profit organization that is driving the change the world through creation and growth of new science-based startups.
- Experience leading business accelerator programs, including initiation, development, and delivery of high-quality experience.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Must be able to effectively communicate via both remote (e.g., Zoom or Teams) as well as in-person.
- Ability to drive alignment and resolve conflicts where needed. Ability to conceive, develop and deliver presentations and training sessions.
- Ability to get the job done with strong focus on core values such as safety, valuing people, strong ethics, respect for the environment, and a value and drive for a diverse and inclusive workplace.
- Ability to be highly flexible in scope of their role and tactics associated with the role.
- Excellent project management skills. Strong ability to plan, organize, and execute events and programs. Strong program performance assessment skills.
- Ability to effectively represent The Innovation Space within the research and business communities across the United States.
- Experience with the broader entrepreneurial and business accelerator landscape across the United States especially connected to life sciences, cleantech, and advanced materials sectors.
- Strong strategic planning skills with ability to develop, plan, and implement short- and long-range goals.
