Figure Model for Art & Design Department

Estimated Pay: $25/hour, commensurate with experience

Location: UD Main Campus – Newark, DE

Position Specific Details and Duties

The Art & Design Department is seeking figure models to pose for a variety of drawing and painting classes for the Fall 2026 semester. Nude posing is our primary need and preferred, but we can arrange semi-nude or clothed poses based on the model's comfort level and class requirements.

The candidate will hold poses for sustained periods and should maintain consistency by remembering exact body positions, angles, and facial expressions, while also being able to change positions and adjust posture based on instructor instructions.

Please email artdepartment@udel.edu with any questions.

Job Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Ability to remain still without moving or shaking for extended periods.
  • Willingness to pose nude preferred; semi-nude or clothed poses can be considered.
  • Strong punctuality and consistent attendance for scheduled class blocks.

Schedule:

A successful candidate must be available during scheduled time periods. You will be required to pose only on select days throughout the semester, not necessarily every class period. You will receive the exact list of dates needed for the entire semester. We will discuss additional needs on a case-by-case basis.

For the current Fall 2026 semester, it would be preferable for applicants to be available at the following times, although it is likely unnecessary to be available every day/every week of the semester:

  • Mondays/Wednesdays: 9:10a-1:35pm
  • Tuesdays/Thursdays: 12:45-2:50

Application Process:

Qualified candidates will be contacted to discuss logistics, availability, and any questions before scheduling begins.
