About the department / center:

The Department of Animal and Food Sciences research and teaching programs cover a wide range of scientific disciplines that support the safe and economical production of food animals and healthy foods, as well as the care of companion animals. Our Service Centers provide expertise in detection and prevention of poultry diseases, histology and pathophysiology, environmental and wastewater epidemiology, and food sensory analysis.

Role Description:

The Department of Animal & Food Sciences seeks a responsible undergraduate, critical thinker with initiative and attention to detail to assist with strategic projects using the Microsoft Office suite of products, specifically Excel for data analytics and transposition, Word for professional-quality reports, and PowerPoint for professional presentations. Superior organizational skills, sound judgment, ability to take direction, and confidentiality are required.

Primary responsibilities:

  1. Routine financial data analysis: transposition, report organization, electronic and hard file management.
  2. Professional-quality projects: data organization, writing, and presentation preparation.
  3. Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Superior analytical, communication, and proofreading skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products: Excel, Word, PowerPoint (Publisher is a plus).
  • Knowledge of accounting, data analytics, finance, business management are preferred.

Work Environment:

  • Adhere to work hours maintaining a reliable and dependable attendance and punctuality record.
