About the department / center:

EHS supports and promotes a culture of safety, environmental protection, and regulatory compliance through leadership and awareness.

Role Description:

EHS is seeking responsible, motivated undergraduate students to assist with various basic fire safety and prevention tasks.

 Primary Responsibilities: (these are negotiable and will be based upon the skill level of the student)

• Assist EHS staff in conducting fire safety inspections of campus buildings and facilities.
• Assist EHS staff in maintaining and updating fire safety records and documentation.
• Assist EHS staff with fire drills and emergency evacuation exercises. Evening hour work during residence hall fire drills expected.
• Assist EHS in the development and distribution of fire safety educational materials.
• Conduct monthly inspections of Automated Electronic Defibrillators (AED)
• Other duties as assigned by University Fire Marshal

Qualifications:  

• Possesses a valid driver’s license
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information.
