This student position will be a member of the Project coordinator team in The Egg, Student Life’s Student Creative Agency—a professionally advised student multimedia and design group and premier professional development and experiential learning program centered around creativity. About the position:

This position begins Spring 2024. Preferred candidates are first-years or sophomores. however, we will still consider juniors, and rising seniors for this position.

This student employee will receive an hourly wage of $13.25, disbursed bi-monthly for the spring semester (15-weeks) and fall semester (15-weeks). Opportunities to work during the summer and winter semesters may be offered, but are not required. There is a minimum of 4 hours per week consisting of 2–3 hours of remote work for independent or group assignments, and a mandatory 30 min weekly team meeting. If the student cannot attend this meeting, that time must be made up at an agreeable time and date, promoting team collaboration. Students may not exceed 30 hours per week and at times may be asked to work more than the minimum time to complete projects. 

Students have access to The Egg equipment and are provided a personal license for the Adobe Creative Cloud software suite and other relevant software as required by their role as part of The Egg Program.

Responsibilities:

Under the direction of the Student Life Communications Project Coordinator, the intern will:

  • Learn and use project management software (Asana)

  • Communicates about projects within the Asana project management system via guest user access

  • Update Asana project management system tasks, deadlines, and assignees upon the direction of the Project Coordinator

  • Prepare and assist in the life cycle of a project from start to finish

  • Assist Project Coordinator to verify project requirements, standards, and established processes are being followed

  • Work with the Project Coordinator to ensure the timely submission of all project deliverables

  • Assist in Project Coordinator in setting up the project timeline and assignment

  • Assist in gathering project resources (i.e content, files, images) needed for the timely completion of the project

  • Assist in collecting project data and reporting at-risk or overdue projects to the supervisor

  • Attends weekly meetings with the Project Coordinator to discuss assigned tasks and provide updates 

Requirements:

A strong interest in Project Management as a career is preferred but not required. A student currently enrolled in a program with a focus on Management would be a good candidate for this position. 

Other requirements include:

  • A strong academic level of written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work with a group of diverse people and communicate responsively and effectively

  • Ability to work in a high volume, fast-paced, self-directed environment under deadline pressures

  • Ability to work independently, multi-task, and prioritize productively

  • Significant organizational skills including keen attention to detail

  • High computer literacy including the ability to learn multiple project management software

  • A willingness to learn new things and take on work in other areas is an expectation of all positions at the Egg to help grow your professional toolkit
