About the position:

The Enrollment Services Counselor (ES) position is part of a team within the Division of Enrollment Management. We are seeking a group of dynamic, high energy, service driven, detail oriented individuals to support the Student Services Contact Center. Under the direction of the Associate Director of Enrollment Services, the ES team will provide accurate and timely information through all modes of frontline service, including telephone, email, and online. The ES team will answer inquiries and concerns including, but not limited to scheduling campus visits, billing, financial aid and registration. Counselors will understand when and how to refer contacts to other University staff members, as appropriate.

Job Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Maintain superior customer service

  • Answer incoming phone calls and take appropriate action for each call

  • Respond and resolve email communications

  • Assign communications and direct inquiries to the appropriate university contacts and resources

  • Document all information according to standard operating procedures

Qualifications:

  • Strong customer service skills

  • Attention to detail is a must

  • Creative and innovative

  • Availability to work half-day shifts scheduled Monday – Friday

  • Demonstrated ability to be proactive and reactive to situations

  • Effective written and oral communication and organizational skills required

  • Sensitive to cultural diversity and ability to communicate and interact effectively with people of all ages and diverse backgrounds

  • Required ability to multitask, work independently and as a team member to achieve common goals, and to exercise sound judgment

  • Knowledge of the University of Delaware is preferred

  • Bilingual proficiency is preferred

Compensation & Expectations:

  • Employees are compensated $15/hr

  • Employees must pay for their own parking. University parking permits are available.
