The Egg, Student Life’s Student Creative Agency is a professionally advised student multimedia and design group and premier professional development and experiential learning program revolving around creativity. We work on projects for Student Life departments and in support of student groups.

The 12+ units and 25 functional areas comprising the Division of Student Life support all UD students as they develop personally, educationally, and professionally. Students find that the development we facilitate, and the communities we foster, fill the abundant space between the classroom and life to complete their University of Delaware experience.

Role Description:

The student photographer will develop creative marketing and communications knowledge with the education and practice of multimedia generation for Student Life. Professional camera equipment will be used by the student to capture events, take portraits, and compose creative images of outdoor and indoor locations on campus. Additionally, this student will edit, process photos using Adobe software and share photos on appropriate platforms as instructed. On occasion, the student photographer will act as an assistant to other photographers or videographers on the multimedia team. This student will also attend bi-weekly meetings over Zoom to stay on track with assignments, ask questions and discuss professional multimedia openly. 

Primary Responsibilities:

• Capture student events, direct and assist photography sessions, and capture artistic shots around campus for both digital and print marketing purposes. 

• Performs photography setup and scheduling, operates the camera and equipment (lighting, backdrop, etc.), breaks down that equipment, and maintains it is in working condition for future shoots. 

• Edit and deliver photos before the project deadline to be featured on the website, social media, and display screens around campus.

• Use Asana to deliver photos and communicate with project members. 

• Maintain storage of photography using our shared BOX database. 

• Attend bi-weekly team meetings over Zoom.

• Coordinate and schedule photoshoots with students and staff.

• Assist with multi-team marketing projects and campaigns as needed.

• Responsible on occasion for capturing artistic b-roll video footage. 

Qualifications:  

• Must be Work-Study eligible

• Experience with photography or videography is preferred
