Role Description:
Creative Leadership, Innovation, and Service is seeking responsible, motivated undergraduate students to assist with the QUEST Summer Leadership and Transition Program. Peer Mentors will have the unique job of helping incoming students develop a sense of belonging on the University of Delaware campus during their first semester. They will be able to confidently model effective leadership and have the ability to articulate and share leadership competencies they gained through their participation in our programs. Peer Mentors will have a strong knowledge of our campus and university, and in turn will serve as a source of information, comfort, and advice to first year students throughout the school year. Peer Mentors will have excellent communication and presentation skills and will feel comfortable facilitating group discussions and leadership exercises. Throughout QUEST, mentors will also be responsible for hosting individual or small gatherings of students, while strengthening relationships with the first-year students. In addition, mentors will be required to attend continued training and follow-ups and remain active in a program offered by our office throughout their term. Peer Mentors will be representing the best of the University of Delaware and the Creative Leadership, Innovation, and Service unit, and will portray themselves as social and academic role models, while maintaining appropriate relationships, via in person and also on social media outlets.
Primary Responsibilities:

A QUEST Peer Mentor will be a full time, undergraduate student through Fall 2026.

A QUEST Peer Mentor must have and maintain a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA and remain in good community standing through the office of Community Standards and Conflict Resolution. Candidates will undergo a conduct check with Community Standards and Conflict Resolution, though that may not prohibit a student's candidacy.

A QUEST Peer Mentor will be engaged in at least one program offered by Creative Leadership, Innovation and Service during the 2025-2026 academic year. Involvement can include participation in a certificate program, a UDaB alternative break, conference, retreat, or other engagement from our office, including future involvement in the spring 2026 semester.

QUEST Peer Mentors will attend training and QUEST from August 10-27, 2026.

QUEST Peer Mentors will attend staff meetings in Spring 2026 and Fall 2026.

QUEST Peer Mentors will attend follow-up events in Fall 2026 and the final program banquet in December 2026.
