Role Description:
Effective immediately, the department of Plant and Soil Science is seeking, a responsible, motivated, well-organized individual to assist with plant breeding research. The position is seasonal with flexible hours, but someone who can work for at least 10 hours per week during the Fall and Spring semesters and 29.5 hours in the summer is preferred.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Shelling corn seed and organizing
- Preparation of seed for spring planting
- A highly motivated student can conduct independent undergraduate research
- Summer fieldwork: corn pollination and data collection
Qualifications:
- Dependable
- Organized
- Comfortable using computers
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Able to train and supervise student assistants (high-school).
- Able to work independently and in teams
