Role Description:

We are seeking a research assistants to help run an in-person research study examining how teams work together on a laboratory task. In the study, teams of four participants will be trained to build electronic circuits using Snap Circuits and will then complete a series of team tasks. Teams will be video-recorded during the study and participants will complete several surveys throughout the session.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Preparing the laboratory and study materials before each session
• Greeting participants and signing them in
• Providing participants with study instructions and guiding them through the different stages of the task
• Starting and stopping video recordings and ensuring that recordings are properly saved
• Monitoring the session to make sure the study protocol is followed consistently
• Saving and organizing study data following each session
• Debriefing participants at the conclusion of the study
• Resetting the laboratory and materials for the next session

Applicants must be enrolled in a graduate program at the University of Delaware and be in good academic standing. To be considered for additional on-campus employment, applicants combined on-campus employment, including teaching, research and graduate assistantship, must not exceed 29.5 hours per week.

Graduate students on contract may hold additional employment, on campus or off, up to 29.5 hours per week total without approval by the student’s program, the student advisor or the Graduate College. However, graduate students on contract are encouraged to discuss additional employment with their advisors to avoid any situations that might hinder timely progress toward the degree.
