      | The Department of History at Rowan University, the third fastest growing public research institution as recognized by The Chronicle of Higher Education, is seeking a non-tenure track, three-quarter time faculty position in the history of gender and the early modern Atlantic world (1500-1800), to start in January 2026. This position carries a teaching load of three courses per semester and has no required service. The position may be renewed annually, and the normal contract year extends from September 1 to June 30.
The successful candidate will teach survey and upper division courses in their area of historical specialty. They may also teach courses for Rowan’s vibrant Women’s and Gender Studies Program, or for our MA program in history.  We seek candidates who are passionate about the history of gender and specialize in the Atlantic world broadly defined, with an ability to teach early modern European,  American, or cross-Atlantic global histories to undergraduate and graduate students. |
