Position: Asset Management Specialist

Description: We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented IT Asset Management Specialist to oversee the lifecycle of technology assets within our organization. The ideal candidate will collaborate with various departments, manage vendor relationships, optimize procurement processes, and ensure accurate asset inventory management. This role encompasses end-to-end management of devices from acquisition to retirement, including asset profiling, database management, procurement coordination, and compliance auditing.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Receiving, configuration and distribution of University-purchased technology assets
  •  Oversee, manage and ensure accuracy of IRT technology asset database
  • Implementation and constant process improvement throughout entire asset lifecycle
  • Facilitate procurement processes to secure competitive pricing
  • Consult with stakeholders on equipment requirements and standard options
  • Manage the configuration/imaging of new equipment for employee use
  • Collaboration with procurement department process on purchases and returns
  • Scheduling of equipment pick-ups and deliveries
  • Installation of University-licensed software not included in standard configurations
  • Support, configuring and troubleshooting of technologies including but not limited to:
    • Desktop, laptop, and mobile hardware
    • Troubleshooting issues with campus-supported software
    • Mobile computing technologies such as tablet computers and smartphones
  • Oversight of student worker staff
  • Constant interaction with University faculty and staff
  • Other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualities:

  • Successful candidates must be motivational learners, comfortable working independently, and
    detail-oriented 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Two (2) years of professional experience directly related to the above job responsibilities. This
    includes working with (but not limited to) operating systems such as Windows 10 and macOS in
    an Active Directory environment; productivity packages such as Microsoft Office (both Windows
    and macOS versions), Adobe Master Collection and McAfee Enterprise Protection suite
  • Excellent written and verbal communications and customer service skills
  • Demonstrable knowledge of:
    • Mobile technologies such as smart phones (iPhone, Android, etc) and tablet computers (Apple iPad, Surface-line of products, etc.), as well as mobile operating systems (iOS and Android).
    • Roaming profiles
    • Computer operating systems such as Windows and macOS

NOTE: Applicants must meet one of the following or a combination of both experience and education. Thirty (30) semester hour credits are equal to one (1) year of relevant experience.

Six (6) years of professional experience in one or more combination of the following: data processing, installation and maintenance of application programs, technical support, and/or design and preparation of programs.

OR

Possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; and two (2) years of the above-mentioned professional experience.

OR

Possession of a master's degree; and one (1) year of the above-mentioned professional experience.

NOTE: "Professional experience" refers to work that is creative, analytical, evaluative, and interpretive; requires a range and depth of specialized knowledge of the profession's principles, concepts, theories, and practices; and is performed with the authority to act according to one's own judgment and make accurate and informed decisions.

Salary:

  • Range P21 ($60,062-$68,385)
