SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Associate Director of Student Programs and Engagement, oversees the development, coordination, and implementation of programs and events, wellness initiatives, print and electronic publications, and related communications. This position also provides oversight of the student health insurance program, student wellness resources, the annual yearbook, and social media for the Office of Student Affairs and Alumni Engagement.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Works collaboratively with the Associate Director of Student Programs & Engagement to support Sewell student wellness events and programs.
  • In partnership with student groups and the Student Affairs team, provide support for school-wide, student-led events, activities, athletic events, conferences, community service programming, fundraisers/collections, and meetings.
  • Responsible for the planning and facilitation of large-scale student and alumni events.
  • Manages the student food pantry in Sewell and serves as liaison to community partners and donors.
  • Serves as point person and lead contact for the yearbook and maintains official records for each area. Manages the committee, content, online creation, design, and production schedule for the annual student yearbook.
  • Serves as a content editor for student and alumni social media sites to promote programs, outreach, programs and maintain an online presence for student support services.
  • Serves as administrator for student health programs, informing students of important policy information, coverage options, enrollment, and waivers, assisting with adjudication for outstanding health bills, and managing the process for student (needlestick) reporting and payment.
  • Helps coordinate and staff signature events and programs. On-site support for these activities may require some travel, as well as occasional evening or weekend work.
  • Oversees annual elections for the Student Government Association.
  • Assists students with general inquiries.
  • Responsible for preparing monthly and annual reports for the Office of Student Affairs and Alumni Engagement, including Sewell campus activity.
  • Receives and appropriately handles incoming correspondence, makes appointments, schedules meetings, and responds to inquiries.
  • Understands and adheres to Rowan University's compliance standards as they appear in Rowan University's Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct, and Conflict of Interest Policy.
  • Keeps abreast of all federal, state, and Rowan University regulations, laws, and policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

The individual performing this job must possess strong computer skills and be familiar with MS Office suite, web content software, on-line survey applications and social media platforms. Candidate must also possess strong writing, communication and organizational skills. A background in program development, publishing and/or student support services is preferred. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Master’s degree in education, marketing, communications, or a related discipline is preferred. Five (5) years of related experience is required.  Experience in a medical school or university setting working with students and/or alumni is also preferred.
