Position Summary:

The Recruitment Communications Specialist is a key member of a high-performing marketing department whose mission is to keep Rowan University future and current students, parents, and other university constituents engaged with the university. The Recruitment Communications Specialist is vital to the success of electronic communications to achieve aggressive marketing and enrollment goals for the Division of Strategic Enrollment Management.

Reporting to the Director of Recruitment Marketing, the Recruitment Communications Specialist designs, builds, and sends a large volume of emails on behalf the Strategic Enrollment Management team and other university partners. They will develop sophisticated emails with variable content to serve diverse segments and a variety of initiatives. In close collaboration with colleagues in marketing and admissions, they will help inform and build the email strategy to reach our audience with impactful emails to increase conversion. This person will be tasked with assuring the quality of the content, as well as the functionality across different platforms.

The Recruitment Communications Specialist is tasked with supporting management of the policies and processes that guide recruitment communications. In addition to ensuring processes run smoothly, this role also makes recommendations related to email development and performance with the goal of increasing effectiveness and performance.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support the planning, development, execution, and measurement of Customer Relations Management (CRM) platform use for email, SMS, and related communications campaigns.

  • Work with Slate, the Division’s marketing email platform and CRM, to build, send, and analyze sophisticated email campaigns.

  • Develop outbound electronic communications in Slate CRM for a variety of prospective student audiences, including first-year and transfer undergraduates, graduate students, international audiences, and their influencers.

  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and partners on email project requirements, delivery of assets, and production timelines.

  • Coordinate stakeholder proofing of emails, process edits and feedback from reviewers, and manage final approval process.

  • Work closely with the Assistant Director of Strategic Enrollment Communications and the Enrollment Systems and CRM Manager to create accurate database queries.

  • Work closely with the Assistant Director of Strategic Enrollment Communications to coordinate with internal stakeholders and partners on email project requirements, delivery of assets, and production timelines.

  • Contribute to the generation and distribution of post-deployment metrics to leadership and other relevant stakeholders.

  • Help manage and maintain tracking system for email campaigns, ensuring all links are tagged correctly and consistently for accurate tracking and analysis of performance.

  • Proactively review requested email deployments for scheduling issues, content suitability (proofing appropriate to Rowan Brand), and work with campaign stakeholders to address any issues.

  • Coordinate, prepare, upload, and test subscriber lists and test lists required for email deployments.

  • Collaborate with marketing and admissions teammates, as well as and academic and non-academic teams across the University, to drive development of strategic communications plans.

  • Monitor overall email deployment calendar in relation to assigned email projects to ensure optimal email frequency and cadence.

  • Create event registration forms and landing pages, including templates for recurring events and registration forms for events with multiple sessions.

  • Work collaboratively in an exciting team environment to develop and implement emerging strategies that support the Division’s goals.

  • Conduct other duties as assigned by the Assistant Vice President of Marketing and Enrollment Management.

Qualifications:

 Required:

  • Two (2) years in marketing communications.

  • Master's degree is required.

  • A passion for creating communications plans to engage, nurture and move target audiences.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to partner effectively across functions.

  • Familiarity with databases and list management.

  • Knowledge of email marketing, marketing funnels, lead nurturing, and marketing automation.

  • Day-to-day experience in CRM platforms, including database query development.

  • Experience with marketing email automation platforms such as Slate, HubSpot, Marketo, Eloqua, or Pardot.

  • Experience with list segmentation

  • Experience with debugging email rendering issues in many different email clients

  • Working knowledge of HTML and CSS.

  • Strong promotional copywriting skills and appreciation for application of branding guidelines

  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and flex based on priorities.

  • Strong planning, organization and time management skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at various levels with a variety of backgrounds.

Preferred:

  • Experience in a higher education setting

  • Agency experience

  • Slate experience preferred

  • SQL experience

  • Experience with Google Analytics

  • Experience with Asana, Basecamp, Teams, or other project management and collaboration tools a plus
