Rowan University is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Part-Time Multimedia Specialist to join our Social Media Team. This role is essential in enhancing our brand’s digital presence through compelling video content and podcasts that engage and captivate our audience. The ideal candidate is passionate about storytelling and has proven expertise in video and audio editing.

Key Responsibilities & Qualifications-

Video Editing:

  • Edit and produce short-form videos for social media platforms including Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.
  • Create visually engaging content aligned with Rowan University’s brand and messaging guidelines.
  • Integrate graphics, animations, and subtitles to boost video quality and engagement.

Podcast Production:

  • Assist in planning and scripting podcast episodes.
  • Help with podcast studio setup and breakdown.
  • Edit and produce podcast episodes, ensuring high-quality audio and smooth transitions.
  • Collaborate with podcast hosts and guests to ensure clear, engaging content.
  • Manage podcast files by trimming, mixing, and mastering audio recordings.

Content Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with the social media team to brainstorm and develop innovative content ideas.
  • Assist in planning video and podcast release schedules for timely publication.
  • Support brand consistency across all social platforms.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in video and audio editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Podbean, or similar tools.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues related to video and audio production.
  • Stay updated with current trends and best practices in social media content creation.

Education:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Communications, Media Studies, Journalism, Film Production, or a related field is preferred.

Experience and Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of social media platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.
  • Demonstrated experience in video and audio editing, preferably in social media or digital marketing.
  • Excellent attention to detail, creativity, and the ability to produce engaging content.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to independently manage multiple projects.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.

Hours:

  • This temporary, part-time position is assigned no more than twenty-five (25) hours per week. Work is contracted annually to coincide with the fiscal year and is contingent upon budget appropriate.
