Open Rank Tenure-Track/Tenured Positions in Biological & Biomedical Sciences
College of Science & Mathematics
The Department of Biological & Biomedical Sciences at Rowan University invites applications for one or more open rank tenure track/tenured faculty positions in the broadly defined area of life sciences with a focus that combines experimental and computational approaches and contributes to the understanding of complex biological systems. The search is open with respect to biological subfield, but candidates with a research focus in omics, neuroscience, infectious agents, or cell/developmental biology and who use computational approaches that include bioinformatics, artificial intelligence (AI), and/or machine learning (ML) will be viewed favorably. We encourage applications from scholars with interdisciplinary perspectives across scales and traditional subdisciplines. Ample opportunities exist for synergistic collaborations with researchers within the department and college, the Cooper Medical School of Rowan University, the Rowan-Virtua School of Osteopathic Medicine, and the Schreiber School of Veterinary Medicine.
The successful candidates will be expected to develop and maintain independent, externally funded research programs as well as collaborate with multidisciplinary groups of faculty, both within and outside the department as appropriate. Candidates will be expected to teach effectively at the undergraduate and graduate levels and guide an active scholarly research program involving undergraduate, M.S., and Ph.D. students. The department values colleagues who are committed to contributing to the success of multicultural, neurodiverse, and historically underrepresented and underserved students.
