The English Language Program seeks qualified part-time instructors to teach in our Program.  The ELP is a university-based intensive academic English program serving international and local immigrant students.

Our primary goals are to prepare students for university success and help non-native speakers of English improve their English skills. Courses offered will be based on enrollment and program needs. Positions are on our Glassboro campus.

Class Schedules:

Monday to Thursday:

  • 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
  • 10:40 a.m.  12:10 p.m.
  •  1:05 p.m. –   2:35 p.m.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach courses as assigned by the Director and the Lead Instructor.
  • Create course plans and syllabi based on provided curriculum.
  • Attend all mandatory departmental and faculty meetings.
  • Participate in program activities.
  • Work closely with the Director and Lead Instructor to meet students' needs.
  • Fluency in Spanish or Turkish is a plus.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Master’s degree in TESOL, Linguistics, or English
  • A minimum of 1 year teaching academic ESL in an adult education environment is required.
  • Flexibility in working with international students in an intensive English program.
  • Ability to teach multiple language competencies at all proficiency levels.
  • Capacity to contribute ideas and creativity to our expanding program.

Hours:

  • This temporary, part-time position is assigned no more than twenty-five (25) hours per week. Work hours cannot exceed 25 hours per week and 944 hours per fiscal year. The work is contracted annually to coincide with the fiscal year and is contingent upon budget appropriation.

  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US, and the university will not sponsor an applicant for a work visa for this position.
