Professional Services Specialist for Patient Care (Grant Funded)

Summary:

The position of Professional Services Specialist for Patient Care will assist students with their health care management as they pursue their education, for which students are inexperienced at navigating. This position will work in collaboration with the Wellness Center Director, clinical and clerical staff to ensure a collaborative approach.

Functional Areas of Responsibility:

Medical patients:

  • Collaborate with clinical staff after diagnosis; consulting on medication questions and compliance, providing assistance with referrals, and assisting with scheduling outside testing and follow up visits.

  • Review clinical visit notes daily to ensure proper disposition.

  • When needed, assist with scheduling student follow ups with outside providers, non-urgent transportation, laboratories, and diagnostic centers. 

  • Manage tuberculosis compliance for those determined to be at higher risk.

  • Health promotion.

 Mental health clients:

  • Collaborate with clinical staff and review clinical visit notes daily to ensure proper disposition outside of the Wellness Center. 

  • When needed, assist with scheduling with outside providers, non-urgent transportation, laboratories, and diagnostic centers.

  • Health promotion.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • Three years of patient navigation or case management experience is preferred. One year of professional experience required.

  • Strong written and oral communication.

  • Ability to effectively collaborate with campus-wide partners and outside agencies when required.

  • The ideal candidate will have experience in secondary or higher education.

Salary & Benefits:

  • In compliance with The State of New Jersey's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is AFT: Range 18 (Step 1: $55,142 to Step 3: $60,654), with placement within the range determined by candidate's qualifications, professional experience, internal equity, and other factors.

For eligible employees, benefits include: comprehensive NJ State health, dental and retirement benefits, extensive accrued time off/paid holidays, and tuition reimbursement for employee, spouse, and dependents to attend Rowan University, Glassboro. (Tuition reimbursement will apply to undergraduate degrees only for spouse and dependents).
