Part-Time Administrative Support Staff - Provost’s Office:
The Provost’s Office has an opening for the position of Part-Time Administrative Support Staff.
This position requires a highly organized, self-motivated, and resourceful individual. The ideal
candidate will be a creative, enthusiastic, and independent worker as well as a person who will
work well in a fast-paced environment.
Examples of tasks to be performed:
● Assist with calendar management for the Associate Provosts in the office, including
scheduling and room reservations for committee meetings and visits.
● Assist with Middle State Accreditation scheduling, room reservations, communications, and materials preparation.
● Assist with reviewing Relocation Expense Forms and other incoming forms as assigned
● Prepare, maintain, and organize electronic and hard copy files.
● Review, sort, and route incoming correspondence.
● Prepare meeting spaces by ensuring all technology, equipment, and materials are set up.
● Submit facilities work orders and IRT support tickets.
● Act as a first point of contact for visitors to the Provost’s Office.
● Answer telephone calls, direct calls, and take messages for Provost’s Office employees.
● Additional duties as assigned.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree preferred.
● Effective analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
● Strong computer skills including Google and Microsoft Suites.
● Excellent oral and written communication skills.
● Ability to be a team player and build effective working relationships with faculty, professional staff, and administrators.
● Strong interpersonal skills.
● Must possess high initiative and be able to work within deadlines, manage multiple projects, and maintain confidentiality.
● Ability to manage multiple projects/activities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Preferred:
● Familiarity with university administrative database system (Banner)
● Experience in higher education
Rate: $20 per hour
Hours:
- This temporary, part-time position is assigned no more than twenty-five (25) hours per week and is not to exceed 944 hours per fiscal year. Work is contracted annually to coincide with the fiscal year and is contingent upon budget appropriations.
