Work Environment

This position is based at Rowan Online’s dynamic and interactive team hub, located in downtown Glassboro, NJ. Our staff thrive in our contemporary collaborative workspace, intentionally designed to facilitate meaningful connections and innovative thinking. In addition to the synergistic work environment, this role is eligible to participate in Rowan's Flexible Work Arrangement (hybrid work) policy. To ensure exceptional support for our online learners, in-office and remote days follow a consistent pattern, with regular adjustments for strategic meetings and special events. This student-centered role occasionally requires evening and weekend hours, along with occasional local travel to provide diverse engagement opportunities with Rowan Online’s learning community.

This role offers cross-functional collaboration with the Academic Office, faculty, and campus partners; leadership within course operations; and the ability to strengthen scheduling processes that directly support student retention, persistence, on-time graduation, and a positive faculty teaching experience. What will you be doing?

  • Lead implementation and operation of course scheduling processes in collaboration with academic departments, prioritizing student needs, academic pathways, and faculty readiness. 

  • Create and manage term-based master schedules for Rowan Online, centrally supported, and guided pathway online courses in collaboration with the Academic Office and academic departments.

  • Partner with faculty, the Academic Office, advising, and the Registrar’s Office to address scheduling barriers, instructional needs, and course delivery considerations.

  • Ensure alignment with university, state, and accreditation standards in coordination with appropriate campus offices.

  • Develop and refine workflows in partnership with Rowan Online, faculty, the Academic Office, and other administrative departments.

  • Support student-centered and faculty-informed scheduling models that promote retention, graduation, and effective teaching experiences.

  • Collaborate with advisors and faculty to anticipate scheduling needs, instructional capacity, and adjust offerings accordingly.

  • Monitor enrollment patterns and faculty teaching assignments to support course availability, balance workloads, and accessibility.

  • Prepare summaries and planning materials for leadership, faculty, and campus stakeholders.

  • Lead adoption of process improvements based on best practices and coordination with peer institutions, with consideration for faculty experience.

  • Oversee and coordinate day-to-day logistics by supporting Course Operations Specialists and managing Rowan Online, centrally supported, and guided pathway course scheduling.

  • Represent Rowan Online in committees and working groups focused on scheduling, student success, and faculty support.

What do we require from you?

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution (Master’s preferred).

  • Minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in academic scheduling, student support, enrollment management, or related higher education operations.

  • Strong understanding of higher education scheduling systems and practices.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data and apply findings to improve operations.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with faculty, staff, and administrators.

  • Commitment to advancing equity, access, and student success through course operations.

  • Successfully complete criminal clearance as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Educational Leadership, or related field.

  • Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience in academic scheduling, student support, enrollment management, or related higher education operations.
  • Five or more years of progressive experience in academic scheduling, enrollment management, or student success operations.

  • Experience leading a team in course operations, scheduling, or registration support.

  • Expertise with course management systems, registration platforms, and scheduling tools (e.g., Banner, PeopleSoft, or similar).

  • Proven ability to use data analytics to inform operational decision-making and improve student access.

  • Experience designing and implementing student-centered scheduling models in online or hybrid learning environments.

  • Strong project management skills, including developing processes, timelines, and monitoring outcomes.

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with academic departments, advising, and administrative offices.

  • Knowledge of accreditation and regulatory requirements affecting course scheduling and delivery.

In compliance with The State of New Jersey's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is AFT 22 (Step 1 $67,027 - Step 4 $77,083), with placement within the range determined by candidate's qualifications, professional experience, internal equity, and other factors.

For internal applicants, salary is determined per the Pay Adjustment formula (NJAC 4A:3-4.9 & 4.10)
