$46,283 - $47,208

Basic Function:

To provide direct support to a caseload of TRIO SSS participants and assist in the planning and implementation of personal & professional development workshops, graduate school and cultural immersion travel experiences, and/or success initiatives to engage students and help them succeed. Reports to Assistant Director, TRIO Student Support Services.

This is a 12-month, full-time, grant-funded, term position, eligible for renewal each year of the 2025-2030 grant cycle. Continuation of assignment contingent upon annual renewal of funding and departmental needs.

Examples of Duties:

Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following: 

Provide direct support to and track progress of assigned caseload of TRIO SSS participants through academic and professional mentoring.

Assist in the development, planning, and coordination of student programming including on-campus workshops/events and off-campus travel experiences that focus on belonging, graduate school exploration, financial literacy, personal and professional development, & career readiness.

Assist with the implementation of seminar-like courses specifically designed to assist TRIO SSS participants with connecting with campus resources, graduate school exploration, advocacy, and leadership development.

Prepare and maintain mandatory program documentation and records, including but not limited to student meeting records and workshop & travel attendee lists.

Collaborate with other departments in providing workshops and student development opportunities to engage SSS participants and help them achieve success.

May assist in hiring, training, and/or supervising undergraduate student workers and/or graduate assistant.

Provide information to eligible students and serve as spokesperson for the program.

Serve on department, division, and/or university committees as applicable.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and two years of related experience.

License/Certification:

Not applicable

Knowledge Of:

Personal computer applications

Skill In:

Written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills

Ability To:

Manage people and projects

Preferred Qualifications – if applicable:

Master's degree in education, student affairs, counseling, or a relevant field preferred.

Prior experience working in a federal TRIO program or similar student success program.

Prior experience working to address the needs of TRIO students or similar populations, including but not limited to first-generation students, low-income students, and/or students with disabilities.

Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite, Banner, Cognos, Tutoring Management Platform (e.g. Navigate), Learning Management Platforms (e.g. Canvas), Student Tracking Systems (StudentAccess/Blumen), and/or Degree Audit Software.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:

Working Schedule:

Monday-Friday 8am-5pm, with expectation coordinator may facilitate evening workshops and/or chaperone overnight travel
