JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a highly motivated Finance Intern to join our dynamic financial team for a summer internship program. This position is designed for a rising senior pursuing a four-year degree in Finance, Corporate Finance, Financial Management Analysis, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. The intern will gain hands-on experience in various aspects of corporate finance and contribute to meaningful projects that impact our organization's financial strategy.

This is a fulltime internship (40 hours per week) for a period of 9 weeks during the summer.

  • Timing: The 2025 summer internship will begin Monday, June 9th and conclude on Friday, August 8th.
  • Hours: Interns should be able to commit to NORC’s 8:15 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. CDT business hours.
  • Compensation: The hourly rate of pay is $22.
  • Location: This is a remote position with the option for hybrid work if you live near one of our office locations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports, forecasts, and budgets
  • Support the financial planning and analysis team in data collection and interpretation
  • Help develop financial models and perform sensitivity analyses
  • Participate in the creation of presentations for senior management
  • Contribute to the evaluation of potential investment opportunities and capital expenditure projects
  • Assist in the analysis of financial performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Support the treasury team in cash flow management and forecasting
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to gather financial data and insights

Learning Opportunities:

REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • Rising senior status in a four-year degree program in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Strong academic record with a minimum GPA of 3.3
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with financial modeling and valuation concepts
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of financial databases such as Bloomberg or FactSet
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
  • Understanding of basic accounting principles
  • Familiarity with VBA or other programming languages
