Detailed Description:

The University of San Diego, Professional and Continuing Education is looking for an adjunct faculty member to teach and/or develop online classes in our Artificial Intelligence for Business Solutions program.  The program will consist of eight 1-unit courses. These courses are offered in the online self-paced format and students have 6 months to complete it.  Each of these eight courses will be four weeks in length.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Teaching responsibilities include teaching, assessing student progress in meeting the learning objectives through formal and informal assessment, holding office hours, meeting required deadlines for submitting grades, attendance, and other information, as requested, and adhering to safety procedures and departmental standards.  Development responsibilities include working with the Learning Design Team to create and develop the course in our learning management system while meeting agreed upon deliverable dates.

Work Mode: This position is entirely remote.

Work Schedule: Online as Needed

Job Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related discipline. (Such as mathematics; with an emphasis on algorithms, data structures, and programming languages like Python.)  Working knowledge of generative AI techniques, such as GANs and VAEs is a plus.  A minimum of two (2) years of full-time professional experience in these areas is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience in Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Data Science, Business Intelligence, Research Science, Big Data, Software Engineer, Data Analysis preferred.

Experience with the Canvas learning management system is a plus.

Posting Salary:

$40-44/hour

The salary range provided in this posting reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for this position.  Actual compensation offered or earned is dependent on experience, education and other factors including departmental budget.
