| Detailed Description: |
This is a part-time, temporary, non-benefit-based position with an anticipated end date of December 18, 2026. The appointment is renewable at the discretion of the University and dependent upon performance and continued funding.
The Business Career Services Manager provides individualized career coaching and career readiness support for undergraduate and/or graduate students in the Knauss School of Business. This position delivers high-quality career coaching through one-on-one appointments, helping students develop the skills, strategies, and confidence needed to successfully pursue internships, employment, and graduate opportunities.
The Manager collaborates with the Business Career Services team to ensure students receive timely, relevant, and industry-informed guidance while maintaining accurate coaching documentation. This is a temporary position focused exclusively on student career coaching and related student support responsibilities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Career Preparedness and Development:
- Deliver 1:1 and/or group coaching to support students in building career readiness and provide guidance on topics such as resume and cover letter review, mock interview preparation, career exploration, job/internship search strategy, and career management conversations.
- Tailor career coaching using labor market insights, industry-specific hiring timelines, and professional standards to ensure timely, relevant support.
- Identify and promote internship and job opportunities while guiding students in building meaningful professional networks.
- Support students through challenges that impact academic and career progress by providing referrals to campus wellness and advising services.
- Maintain accurate coaching notes and student records using career services technologies and university systems.
- Collaborate with Business Career Services colleagues to ensure consistency in coaching practices and student support.
Other duties as assigned:
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and department initiatives.
- Assist with special projects related to student career readiness as assigned.

| Job Requirements: |
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with preference given to business or related field.
- 3 years of experience in programming, student services, career services, recruiting, or other related work.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree from an accredited college or university with preference given to business or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in program management, student services and/or career services in higher education.
Performance Expectations - Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of and experience with:
- Computer literacy (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Suite, Zoom) and experience with career services-related software (i.e., Handshake, 12Twenty, Mentor Collective).
- Ability to work with senior level industry executives as well as broad range of undergraduate and graduate students.
- Career coaching principles and strategies.
- Career services trends and best practices.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience with program planning/administration.
Demonstrated performance in:
- Self-starter, strong sense of initiative and accountability.
- Positive attitude and professional demeanor; comfortable engaging with students, faculty, staff, alumni, and industry executives at all levels.
- Excellent interpersonal, emotional intelligence and organizational skills.
- Public speaking, workshop facilitation, and delivering engaging presentations to diverse audiences.
- Report and presentation writing.
- Strong verbal/writing/computer skills especially in web-based technology.
- Time management and organization in balancing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Collaborating effectively across cultures, disciplines, and departments to achieve shared goals.
- Working independently, using good judgment, initiative and creativity.
- Flexibility and adaptability in navigating evolving priorities, organizational changes, and student needs.
- Taking ownership of responsibilities and effectively resolving problems with a solutions-oriented approach.

| Posting Salary: |
$34.00 - $38.00 per hour
The salary range provided in this posting reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Actual compensation offered or earned is dependent on experience, education and other factors including departmental budget.
