| Department Description: |
The Department of Learning and Teaching's strong commitment to diversity is reflected in our full-time faculty, and the PhD and Master’s program enrollment. Currently, 69% of our full-time faculty are faculty of color; 78% of students in the PhD program are students of color, 69% are women, and many are the first in their families to pursue higher education; and over 40% of students in the Master’s program are students of color. The Department includes a fully online PhD program in Education for Social Justice, both credential and master's degree programs in elementary education, secondary education, special education, and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), and a fully online Master's of education program for experienced K-12 teachers. | Detailed Description: |
The Department of Learning and Teaching is seeking college instructors or credentialled public school personnel with a minimum of 5 years of K-12 classroom experience capable of teaching Educational Research Methods.
- Provide instruction on quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods educational research studies; prepare educational professionals to access and critically consume educational research findings to support and extend their own inquiries. Student work will culminate in a final research proposal. This course is a prerequisite to the final capstone course, in which students will conduct their proposed research.
Assignments to this course are considered lecturer and non-benefit-based. Each course consists of 3 units of teaching credit and the maximum allowable for each non-benefits-based instructor is 6 units. Episodic need during Fall (Sept – Dec) or Spring semesters (end Jan - May).

Lecturer I: $6735 | Lecturer II: $7035 for a 3 unit course | Based on degree/education
The salary range provided in this posting reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Actual compensation offered or earned is dependent on experience, education and other factors including departmental budget.
