Basic Responsibilities A. Supervision of activities and technical services for acquisitions of books, serials, and standing orders
B. Prepare acquisition requests for materials to be ordered and received
C. Manage gifts including books, periodicals, etc.
Essential Duties

A. Supervision of activities and technical services for acquisitions of books, serials, and standing orders
1. Identifies and processes requested books, standing orders, and other collection materials for library acquisition using vendor systems, e-commerce sites (Amazon, etc.) and bibliographic databases, verifies accuracy of data, monitors requests for duplicates, and places orders through a variety of channels.
2. Communicates with publishers, vendors, and staff regarding order status. Track changes in content, cost, and approval status for new and renewal orders. Troubleshoot and support order issues with vendors.
3. Process and maintain accurate records of periodicals in SIRSI Workflows
4. Monitors materials budgets and reports on expenditures and acquisitions.

B. Prepare acquisition requests for materials to be ordered and received
1. Prepare and send allocation letters to ACU academic departments soliciting requests and process orders received from librarians.
2. Search SIRSI Workflows, WorldCat, and OCLC Connexion to select and download correct bibliographic records for items ordered.
3. Place orders using ACU purchasing card.
4. Receive and record library materials in SIRSI Workflows.
5. Occasionally prepare periodicals for commercial bindery and receive when completed.
6. Help train and manage student staff.

C. Manage gifts including books, periodicals, etc.
1. Take care of paperwork for receipt of gifts, including receipt forms and communicate with donors.
2. Train and manage student staff in sorting gift items.
3. Notify librarians when gift items are ready to be examined and considered for adding
