Job Summary:

The Department of Chemistry, Biochemistry, & Physics at Marist University invites applications for part-time faculty to teach General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, and/or Physics I Laboratory in Fall 2025. Opportunities are available for both lecture and laboratory courses, with all instruction conducted in person.
We are especially seeking instructors with availability to teach lab sections during the following times:

• Chemistry Labs:
  • Mondays, 8:00–11:00 a.m.
  • Tuesdays, 8:00–11:00 a.m.
  • Fridays, 2:00–4:45 p.m.
• Physics I Lab:
  • Thursdays, 2:00–4:45 p.m.
• An additional Tuesday afternoon lab (2:00–4:45 p.m.) may be offered depending on enrollment.
• Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, and additional teaching opportunities may become available in future semesters.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree in Chemistry or Physics.

Essential Functions:

• Delivering in-person lectures or guiding students through laboratory experiments
• Explaining key concepts clearly and effectively
• Assessing student performance and grading assignments
• Maintaining timely communication with students
• Managing course materials and grades using Brightspace, our learning management system
• Guiding students through lab experiments and reinforcing core physics concepts
• Grading lab reports and assignments
• Maintaining effective and timely communication with students
• Posting lab materials, grades, and announcements on Brightspace (our learning management system)
