Job Title: HR Graduate Assistant for the Office of Student Employment
Department: Human Resources
Student Employment Type: Graduate Assistant (Hourly)
Responsibilities:
  • Support the Office of Student Employment with the student hiring process for Federal Work, Non-Federal Work-Study, and graduate student employees
  • Assist students with on- campus job search and inquiries by monitoring the Student Employment inbox, offering Zoom meetings, and walk-ins.
  • Track students’ progress and completion of the new hire onboarding tasks process; respond professionally and in a timely manner to all questions from students, parents, and student employee supervisors
  • Collaborate with hiring managers across university departments to guide them in the job requisition creation and hiring process
  • Assist in running and developing Student Employment Workshops
  • Represent the Office of Student Employment in various university events
  • Learn and utilize applicant tracking system
  • Work closely with the payroll department
  • Assist with Student Employee Appreciation Event planning and other department initiatives
  • Various projects as needed for the Office of Human Resources.
Qualifications:
  • Must be a graduate student, in good standing, and enrolled at least part-time at Quinnipiac University
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to interact with individuals from diverse backgrounds while exhibiting a positive, caring, and helpful attitude
  • Successful applicants will possess professionalism, attention to detail, ability to multi-task, and be highly organized
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality when required
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and projects to ensure proper alignment with workload
  • Prior experience with or an interest in Human Resources, Organizational Leadership or Business preferred
  • Proficient in Office 365
  • Willingness to take initiative.
Hours and Start Date of Position:
  • This position may start in June 2024 or August 2024 (possibility for hybrid schedule during the summer; in person for academic year)
  • 18-20 hours per week
  • Must have availability to work Monday through Friday between the hours of 9am and 4pm
  • Availability to assist in person with new student orientation in June 2024 (preferred)
  • Availability to assist during welcome weekend events in August 2024.
