Responsibilities: |
- Assist with day-to-day operations of Quinnipiac’s fitness & recreation centers.
- Assist with recruiting, hiring, training, and evaluating student staff.
- Develop innovative recreation programming and events in conjunction with professional staff.
- Serve as manager-on-duty as coverage for student staff as needed.
- Assist with routine facility preventative maintenance and equipment tests.
- Utilize employee scheduling software to coordinate student staff schedules.
- Schedule, create, and post marketing materials relevant to department events and programs.
- Collaborate with other Graduate Assistants and professional staff in the department to plan and execute events and programs.
- Utilize recreation and point-of-sale software to assist with memberships, facility access, equipment rental, and facility scheduling.
- This is a 20 hour/wk position and requires some mornings, late-evenings, and weekends as needed.

Qualifications:
|
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Previous experience working in recreation, fitness, health clubs, or related.
- CPR/AED Certification (or ability to obtain)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as computer competencies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in sports management, recreation, student affairs, business, or related field.
- Experience working in collegiate recreation.
- Experience managing student staff.
- Familiarity with campus recreation software and employee management software.

Work Hours: |
- 20hrs per week
- Nights and weekends are required
- This is a 10-month position and offers a $10,000 stipend and 18-credit tuition waiver. The position is renewable for one additional year
