Job Title: Graduate Assistant for Facility Operations
Department: Campus Recreation
Student Employment Type: Graduate Assistant- Hourly and Tuition Waiver
Responsibilities:
  • Assist with day-to-day operations of Quinnipiac’s fitness & recreation centers.
  • Assist with recruiting, hiring, training, and evaluating student staff.
  • Develop innovative recreation programming and events in conjunction with professional staff.
  • Serve as manager-on-duty as coverage for student staff as needed.
  • Assist with routine facility preventative maintenance and equipment tests.
  • Utilize employee scheduling software to coordinate student staff schedules.
  • Schedule, create, and post marketing materials relevant to department events and programs.
  • Collaborate with other Graduate Assistants and professional staff in the department to plan and execute events and programs.
  • Utilize recreation and point-of-sale software to assist with memberships, facility access, equipment rental, and facility scheduling.
  • This is a 20 hour/wk position and requires some mornings, late-evenings, and weekends as needed.

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Previous experience working in recreation, fitness, health clubs, or related.
  • CPR/AED Certification (or ability to obtain)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as computer competencies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in sports management, recreation, student affairs, business, or related field.
  • Experience working in collegiate recreation.
  • Experience managing student staff.
  • Familiarity with campus recreation software and employee management software.
 Work Hours:
  • 20hrs per week
  • Nights and weekends are required
  • This is a 10-month position and offers a $10,000 stipend and 18-credit tuition waiver. The position is renewable for one additional year
