Job Title: OSE Graduate Assistant for Operations
Department: Campus Life
Student Employment Type: Graduate Assistant (Hourly)
Responsibilities:
  • Manage the Student Organization Suite including day-to-day organizational assistance, procedures, appreciation events, supplies, lockers, mailboxes, etc.
  • Assist the Associate Director with the hiring, training, supervision, and evaluation of all student employees, including addressing employment concerns and developing correction plans when necessary.
  • Create and maintain student employment schedules in collaboration with the Student Centers Operation Manager and Campus Life Operations Manager, for the Information Booths, Student Organization Suite and the Campus Life front desk.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Student Centers (i.e., vendor tables, room schedule signage, boards, and OSE employee rounds, etc.)
  • Develop, execute, and oversee the checkout process of supplies/items students can borrow from the information booth (i.e., board games, chairs, etc.).
  • Enhance and maintain a sense of community with the student employees.
  • Provide several professional/career development opportunities for student employees
  • Host student employee appreciation events each semester.
  • Advise the Montage student media organization, providing guidance and support to the editor, executive board, and general members.
  • Oversee the off-campus vendor program.
  • Assist with Orientation Leader Selection.
  • Serve in on-call duty rotation with other Graduate Assistants to support evening/weekend programming at York Hill & Mount Carmel campuses.
  • Develop, execute, and assess a leadership development series in collaboration with other OSE graduate assistants.
  • Assist with university, division, department/office events (i.e., Open Houses, Admitted Students Days, Move-In, Welcome Weekend, Senior Experience etc.)
Qualifications:
  • Must be a graduate student, in good standing, currently enrolled in coursework at Quinnipiac University.
  • Prior experience with student center/union or large-scale event space operations preferred.
  • Prior experience managing employees.
  • Prior experience with program development and execution.
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality when required.
  • Ability to work autonomously with limited supervision.
  • Ability to interact with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and to exhibit a positive, helpful attitude.
  • Ability to work and maintain focus in a high-energy environment.
Hours of Position:
  • Majority of hours held between the business hours of 9am-5pm, Monday- Friday with some weekend and evening responsibilities.
  • Up to 20hrs per week
