| Responsibilities: |
- Support the Executive Director of the Albert Schweitzer Institute (ASI) in managing a community garden that raises produce for the Hamden Food Pantry.
- Coordinate student, faculty, staff and community volunteers to plant, weed, water, and harvest in the garden.
- Assist with programming in the garden to include programming for children and neighbors of the garden.
- Assist the Executive Director of the ASI in communication with the Keefe Community Center, the Hamden Food Policy Task Force, the United Way of Greater New Haven, and other community partners.
- Tend to plants in the pollinator garden, vegetable garden, and herb garden at the Albert Schweitzer Institute (watering, some weeding).

| Qualifications: |
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and take responsibility for projects.
- Good interpersonal skills; strong organizational skills.
- Demonstrated interest in gardening, food security and community action.
- Ability to manage own transportation to work sites.

| Hours of Position: |
Flexible – morning hours preferred.
