Job Title: Occupational Therapy Department Graduate Assistant

Responsibilities:
  • Selected GA candidates will be assigned to one of the following primary roles, however with the expectation that the roles may shift based upon departmental needs over the course of the academic year:
    • Support to students and faculty in the area of Functional Anatomy & Kinesiology.
    • Support to students and faculty in the areas of OT Assessment\Intervention in Adults and Older Adults
    • Support to student and faculty in the areas of OT Assessment\Intervention in Children & Youth
    • Support to department with administrative duties and scholarly endeavors
Qualifications:
  • Applicant must have a demonstrated record of:

    • Strong ability to assume professional position of mentorship on behalf of undergraduate OT students. 

    • Expressed desire to actively partake in the teaching\learning process on behalf of student success &\or the pursuit of research and other scholarly endeavors.  Demonstrated engagement in teaching\learning (ie: tutoring) &\or scholarship is preferred.

    • Strong ability to complete faculty-assigned tasks given distant supervision in a timely fashion.

    • BSOT degree with minimum overall undergraduate GPA of 3.3.

Note: Graduate Students who are awarded Graduate Assistantships (GA) cannot hold any other position through University employment. This includes: Resident Assistants (RA), federal work study positions and non-aid positions.

Hours of Position:
  • Five positions available
  • Average of 5 hours weekly (actual coverage to be determined based on selected candidate availability and departmental needs).
