Responsibilities: |
- Provide homework help and tutoring using school intervention packets or Club-assigned academic materials.
- Facilitate age-appropriate academic games (e.g. scrabble, word puzzles, etc.) and mentoring activities to reinforce learning in a fun and engaging fashion
- Promote STEM through academically enriched programs when available.
- Assist Youth Development Professionals with snack time, unlocking restrooms or assisting with transitions between activities.
- Help supervise and support recreational, fitness and low-organized games led by Club Staff.
- Complete daily tutor tracker sheets to document progress and engagement for each child tutored.
- Completion of mandatory training prior to direct engagement with youth that includes a combination of online modules and on-floor shadowing, designed to ensure tutors are fully prepared for their role. Sessions are based on tutor availability. Full completion of training components is required to ensure readiness, confidence and compliance with Club policies and procedures.

Qualifications: |
- Past experience working with youth encouraged, but not required
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Passionate about youth development and committed to the mission of the Boys and Girls Clubs
- Reliable, organized, values driven with a strong work ethic
- Able to multitask and remain calm and positive in a fast-paced, youth-centered environment

Hours of Position: |
- Boys and Girls Clubs hours of operation are M-F between 3-6pm for afterschool programs. Applicants must have time available within these hours to be able to work at this location. Schedules may vary due to early dismissals or full-day programming. Club calendars are provided in advance to assist in planning.
