Responsibilities: |

Guidance & Referrals: Offer accurate guidance on common questions related to international student services, including visa regulations, campus resources, and upcoming events. Refer complex inquiries to the appropriate OISS staff.

General Office Tasks: Support daily operations by helping with filing, photocopying, supply inventory, and other clerical duties as assigned.

Graphic Design, Social Media & Newsletter Creation: This role offers a creative opportunity to shape the visual and digital presence of the Office of International Students and Scholars. The Office Assistant will contribute to the development of engaging content that informs, connects, and celebrates the international student community.

Graphic Design: Create visually appealing flyers, posters, and digital graphics to promote events, programs, and services. Experience with Canva or similar tools is preferred.

Social Media Management: Assist in curating and scheduling content for OISS social media platforms. Help grow engagement by sharing student stories, promoting events, and highlighting cultural celebrations in an inclusive manner.

Newsletter Creation: Draft, design, and distribute the weekly International Student Newsletter using the Delivra platform. Collaborate with staff to gather content, write articles, and ensure timely delivery.

Event Planning & Execution: The Office Assistant will play an active role in supporting the planning, coordination, and delivery of events that enhance the international student experience. This includes cultural celebrations, orientation programs, workshops, and community-building activities.

Event Preparation: Assist in the logistical planning of OISS events, including materials preparation, catering, and setup.

On-Site Support: Provide hands-on assistance during events by helping with registration, welcoming attendees, managing supplies, and troubleshooting as needed.

Qualifications: |

Experience with office tasks such as digital organization, data entry, scheduling, project-based researching and handling confidential information.

Familiarity with issues impacting international students, such as F-1/J-1 visa regulations, work authorizations, common procedures (SSN, DMV, etc.), and cultural adjustment.
