The School of Communications at Quinnipiac University seeks a full-time, tenure-track assistant professor in the Media Studies Department. This appointment begins in August 2025.
The department is developing new and innovative curriculum in the areas of media analytics, audience behaviors, and digital culture. We welcome colleagues who are interested in fostering collaborative opportunities across the School and across the campus in these areas, and whose research agendas contribute to these professional arenas. We look forward to reviewing candidates whose studies are at the intersection between emerging technologies, audience and fan trends, and data-driven, strategic media decisions. The School of Communications highly values innovative teaching and diverse perspectives.

We balance hands-on skills training with instruction in the liberal arts to prepare students for exciting and rewarding careers in advertising and integrated communications; communications/media studies; film, television and media arts; graphic and interactive design; journalism; and public relations. Responsibilities:
|
- Development of courses in area of expertise
- Contribute to the school-wide core requirement, Media Industries and Trends, as well as an upper-level Media Research Methods course. Other areas of potential contribution include media trend forecasting, media innovators, celebrity culture, communications law and policy, diversity in media, and popular music.
- Guiding, advising, and mentoring students
- Engagement in university and community service appropriate to interests
- Participate in faculty development opportunities.

Education Requirements:
|
- A Ph.D. in Media Studies, Communications, or a related field is required. Advanced ABDs who have a confirmed defense date prior to August 15, 2025, will be considered.

Qualifications:
|
- All candidates must show evidence of dynamic teaching, a successful presentation and publication record in peer reviewed venues, and a commitment to student success.
- We seek a community member who will help to build bridges across disparate expertise for exciting, new initiatives.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with individuals from varied backgrounds.
